An alternative to AllSeated and Prismm
Updated
AllSeated was for years the free seating chart tool that wedding blogs recommended. It became Prismm, Prismm became part of Cvent, and since August 26, 2026 new events can only be created in Cvent Event Diagramming. Existing Prismm events can still be edited until June 2027. If you are moving anyway, and what you need is a seating chart and an easy way for guests to find their table, it is worth looking at what else is out there.
| Events Planner | Cvent Event Diagramming | |
|---|---|---|
| Price | Free | Free plan, or paid plans from $49 a month |
| Commitment | None | 12 months on every paid plan |
| Events | Unlimited | 3 on the free plan |
| Guests per event | Unlimited | 150 per attendee list, below the top plan |
| Guests find their seat by QR code | Yes, with a room map | Not listed on its pricing page |
| Professionally drawn venue floor plans | No | On venue plans |
What is changing for Prismm users
According to Cvent's migration pages, Prismm accounts and events dated from January 1, 2022 onward move into Cvent Event Diagramming. Templates, favourites and object groups have to be recreated there, and Cvent recommends exporting any Prismm floor plans and reports you want to keep. Paid Prismm customers keep their current plan and price unless they choose a new one. After June 2027, work made in Prismm is view-only.
Cvent Event Diagramming is built for venues and planners
Cvent Event Diagramming, which used to be Social Tables, is a professional diagramming tool. It is very good at what venue sales teams and event companies need: detailed floor plans of real rooms, many events a year, and a team working on them together. Its free plan covers three events and 150 attendees per list. Beyond that, paid plans start at $49 a month with a 12-month commitment. That is good value for a venue, and more than most couples planning one wedding want to sign up for.
If you are planning one event
Events Planner is built for the host rather than the venue. Draw your room to scale, add the tables, import your guest list from Excel or CSV, and seat everyone by hand or automatically, with rules for who must sit together and who must be kept apart. Then make a link and a QR code: guests type their name and see their table, their seat and a map of the room on their phone. It is free for any number of guests, with no plan to choose.
What you will not find here
Events Planner does not have a library of professionally drawn venue floor plans, a 3D view, or a team workspace with roles and permissions. If you run a venue or an events business, a professional diagramming tool will serve you better. If you are hosting a wedding, a gala or a party and need the seating sorted, you may not need any of that.
Moving your guest list across
Export your guest list from Prismm, or from wherever you keep it, as a spreadsheet. Then import it into the planner: it reads Excel and CSV files, shows you each column with a sample of its values, and lets you say which is the name, the group, the RSVP and the table. You can rebuild the room from your venue's measurements in a few minutes, and your seating rules go in as you seat people.
